I want to start this last post in the ‘3 Days of Thankful’ series, by saying that if you’re reading and have ANY questions, please please please email me . Jump over to the contact tab, drop a line or twenty, with your questions. I will get back to you with biblical answers. I do not want anyone’s questions to go unanswered.
Without further ado my favorite person to talk about:
“The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.” Romans 8:11
I am so thankful for the Holy Spirit, he guides me, teaches me, tells me when and what to speak, and quiets my mouth when I need it — we wont talk about how often that is in this post!
He is my friend, my confidant, and is always with me.
Notice that when speaking about the Holy Spirit I say he, not ‘it’, this is because the Holy Spirit is a person, he is real and he is God moving through people. He is the Holy Spirit of God.
Quick rundown — God is in Heaven, Jesus came to this earth as a man, died and rose from the grave, and ascended into heaven, then the Holy Spirit came. The Holy Spirit is alive and moving on our behalf, the spirit of God is at work here on earth. When God moves in our lives, it is through His Holy Spirit.
Isn’t it amazing to know that the Holy Spirit of our Father in Heaven, lives in us.
I believe the Holy Spirit speaks to everyone, always has and always will.
Until we stop being ‘weirded out’ by this and acknowledge him, believe in him, and welcome him in, we won’t be able to hear what he is saying. And let me tell you from personal experience of hearing Him, it’s nothing short of amazing.
I have literally told a woman I’d never met before, something about her childhood. My husband and I have had a to the penny amount confirmed to us both for an offering, and we never said a word about the amount to each other. These are just two examples, there are so many more I couldn’t even begin in this post, to write them all out.
“But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative – that is, the Holy Spirit – he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you.” John 14: 26
I am so thankful for the Holy Spirit leading and guiding my life. Thank you Lord that you knew we needed daily help and you give it to us through Your Spirit.
